Impact

In Papua New Guinea, a Scripture-based trauma healing workshop brought together people from two warring villages. A ceasefire had been in place, but it had been broken. Many lives had been lost on both sides.

Though South Asia can be a challenging region of the world for Christians to serve faithfully in ministry, Bible translation is moving forward and God is blessing His people.

After arguing among themselves whether to execute their missionary captives, the leaders of the terrorist group chose instead to “liberate” their car and equipment, and let them go. Part of this equipment included a film projector and films about the life of Christ.

When the father showed the Romanian sign language video to his deaf son, the boy perked up and seemed to clearly understand the story’s message.

Although the young Ndokwa woman was familiar with Scripture, this was the first time she was hearing it in her language. Immediately, both she and her daughter decided to follow Christ.

Jamal was moved by the sign language Scripture translations he watched, but the videos mainly stirred up questions — especially when it came to the divinity of Jesus.
