Lingala Equateur ya Sika
Lingala Equateur ya Sika
Africa

Overview

A new chapter is about to begin for millions in the northwest Democratic Republic of Congo. For the first time, they are on the path to receiving the full Bible in their own language, an opportunity that will bring clarity, hope and transformation to over 10 million lives.

Your gift will help new Bible translation initiatives hit the ground running this year. Will you partner with us for this next season of Bible translation?

About the initiative

Lingala Equateur ya Sika is a Bible translation project serving 10 million people in the northwest Democratic Republic of Congo. In this region, communities often have no internet or electricity, leaving them cut off from others. Beyond geographic isolation, the absence of translated Scripture makes it hard to connect with God.  Many identify as Christians, but mix biblical teaching with  occult beliefs.

Although Lingala Equateur is one of the country’s official languages, the northwest variety of Lingala has never had the full Bible. A dedicated team is working to change that, aiming to complete the entire Bible in just three years. With God’s Word in their own language, people will clearly understand Scripture, grow in their faith and strengthen their connection to the wider Church.
