Overview
Worldwide, more than 70 million people use over 350 distinct sign languages. Yet only one, American Sign Language, has a full Bible translation. For many Deaf communities, written Scripture remains inaccessible due to limited literacy and education opportunities.
The Sign Language Scripture Fund supports training, technology and resources for sign language projects around the world. These efforts are giving Deaf communities their first opportunity to fully experience God’s Word in a language they understand.
Together with partners, Wycliffe is equipping Deaf translators to create Scripture videos in their own languages and training local leaders to share them in churches and outreach. As a result, more Deaf people can encounter the gospel clearly, without barriers.
